TOOLS I LOVE

My Favorite Tools

Starting a business can be a lot of work...

So to make it a little easier for you, here is a list of all my favorite resources that I use on a regular basis. You can stop searching Google, Reddit or Pinterest for the tools you need. That’s a lot of guessing and stressing, and honestly, it's a waste of non-refundable time… Everything you need is right here!

None of my suggestions contain affiliate links which means I'm genuinely sharing quality products and services, not just because I get paid to promote them.

I hope you find these helpful! And always feel free to Get In Touch if you have any questions.

HEY, I'M KAREN!

I help goal-getters declutter their thoughts and organize them into action steps.

LET'S MAKE MOVES.

Content

Grammarly
Grammarly edits your content while you write. You can use it as an app where you write all of your content in the app. Or you can add it as an extension to your internet browser. When it is used as an extension, it will automatically proofread everything you write on the internet. Whether it is a Facebook post, an email, or a blog post, it will automatically edit your work for you. And it’s FREE!

Keywords Everywhere
Keywords Everywhere is a FREE add-on that helps you find long-tail phrases, it's easily installed on either Chrome or Firefox. It pulls what "People Also Search For" and "Related" keywords from Google & Bing and shows them to you with the volume metrics right inside Google's search page. It's simple, awesome and takes the stress out of finding SEO popular long-tail keywords and phrases,

CoSchedule Headline Analyzer
Great headlines can be tricky to write. I start with the topic in mind and then start running ideas through this analyzer tool to see how they perform based on their evaluation. This tool will review your headline for its emotional state, the words you use, the length, and much more. It is really great to determine if you need to improve your headline - the goal is a score of 70 or above. Best of all, it's FREE.

Bit.ly

Bitly does a couple of things. The first and most popular reason it's used is to shorten long hyperlinks to make them easier to share.  But I recently learned it's also a great tool to follow and analyze click data! Whether you use it for its simplicity or the sophisticated analytics, it's a great FREE tool to have in your business toolbox.

Graphics & Design

Canva
Canva is a great, and FREE, design platform that can be downloaded as an app or used on your computer (I prefer and always use it on my computer). Canva gives suggested templates (with proper sizing) for all of your design needs. Everything is completely customizable making this tool great for all brands! I'm obsessed with Canva and use it for everything - I do mean everything.

Unsplash

Beautiful FREE stock imagery. This is the best library of gorgeous images out there, in my opinion.

Flat Icon

Flaticon is the largest search engine of FREE icons in the world. They have high-quality graphic designs and easy to edit vectors

Social Media Scheduling

Tailwind
Tailwind is great for scheduling pins and posts to be shared on Pinterest (and Instagram, but I haven't used it for that yet). It suggests the best times to share a post based on your unique followers. Plus it provides you with stats to see how your account is performing with the tool. It has provided amazing results for me in a short amount of time! I set aside 30 mins each week to schedule over 200 pins and let Tailwind do the rest for me. (Unfortunately, this one isn't free, but it's totally worth the cost.)

Website Development

NameCheap
NameCheap is a domain registration and website hosting service that I currently use for my Wix site. I know there are a ton of options but I've been hosting with them for about 3 years and haven’t had any problems.

Wix

If you want to save time and money by building a simple beautiful website, I highly suggest you build it on Wix. If you're not techy, don't want to code, and want to control your content - go with Wix. They make building a website so dang easy. (Check out my video where I share 5 reasons you should design your website on Wix.)

Calendar & Booking

Calendly

Calendly makes it easy to schedule meetings without the back and forth emails. You'll never get double booked, it automatically detects timezones for each participant, sends automated reminders - and yes, it's FREE. Unless you go Pro which is a great feature that allows you to accept payments when someone books time on your calendar. (There is a FREE Pro Trial) Set up your availability and share your link, it's as simple as that.

Email Marketing

Wix

Email marketing is important from the very beginning of building a business. And Wix makes it easy to collect emails, automate responses, nurture your audience, and build your email list. This is where I started because it's a really easy first step, but eventually, your business may grow to need a more sophisticated email marketing platform, such as ActiveCampaign (below).

ActiveCampaignan
ActiveCampaign is an email marketing, marketing automation, sales automation, and CRM software platform for small-to-mid-sized businesses. Their plans start at $9/mo and increase based on your number of contacts. I graduated to ActiveCampaign when I started selling products and building my email nurture series. I'll be honest, it was intimidating at first, but, they have a ton of resources to help you learn the platform. Including, onboarding specialists who will spend 30 minutes on the phone going over ANYTHING you need help with.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Google Analytics
This is a must for every website owner. Google Analytics allows you to track the performance of your website and to better understand your audience. With this tool, you receive unlimited access to important data that can be used to improve your website. See who is visiting your website, how long they spend on your website, what pages they visit and more. If you don’t have Google Analytics set up yet, read my Google Analytics Guide to get started!

If there are any resources that are not included in my list, that doesn’t mean that I don’t like them. Most of the time it means that I’ve never heard of them! So feel free to send me an email with resource recommendations so that I can keep this list updated for you guys!
